President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday his intention to nominate U.S. District Judge Lee Rudofsky to serve on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated, "I am pleased to announce the nomination of Lee Rudofsky to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit!"

Rudofsky currently serves as a Federal District Court Judge in Arkansas. Trump originally nominated him for this position in 2019. The president praised Rudofsky's qualifications, noting his prior roles as Solicitor General of Arkansas and Assistant General Counsel at Walmart. Trump also highlighted Rudofsky's educational background, stating he is a graduate of Harvard Law School and Cornell University. "Lee will be a rock solid defender of the Constitution on the Eighth Circuit," Trump added.

Arkansas Lt. Gov. Leslie Rutledge and state Attorney General Tim Griffin also offered congratulations. Rutledge, who previously appointed Rudofsky as Arkansas's first Solicitor General, expressed confidence in his judicial abilities. "On the federal district court, Judge Rudofsky has adhered to the original text of our constitution and applied the rule of law fairly and impartially. I am confident he will continue to apply the law faithfully," Rutledge said in a post on X. She further described Rudofsky as a "once-in-a-generation jurist" and urged the Senate to confirm his nomination swiftly.

Griffin echoed these sentiments on X, calling Rudofsky an "exceptional choice" due to his "devotion to the rule of law, his fidelity to the Constitution & his unrivaled intellect & legal acumen."
