Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday criticized George Conway, the estranged husband of former Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway, following his loss in the primary election for New York's 12th congressional district.
Trump, writing on Truth Social, referred to Conway as a "Trump Deranged Loser at the highest level" and stated Conway was being "absolutely CRUSHED in the Primaries tonight."
George Conway, an attorney who had been a vocal critic of Trump, was seeking the Democratic nomination for the seat currently held by retiring Rep. Jerrold Nadler. Conway's campaign platform included promises to impeach Trump and pursue his imprisonment.
Trump's social media post also included personal attacks, describing Conway as "truly unattractive, both inside and out." He further referenced Conway's divorce from Kellyanne Conway, who managed Trump's 2016 campaign and served in his White House. The Conways divorced in 2023 after 22 years of marriage.
Conway ultimately finished in a distant fifth place in the primary, with State Assemblyman Micah Lasher projected to win the nomination. The 12th congressional district is a heavily Democratic seat in Manhattan.
