Former President Donald Trump recently attacked New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman on his social media platform, Truth Social, in response to a new book she co-authored.
Trump referred to the book, "Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump," which he stated he had a "very quick and boring briefing" on, as "mostly made up, Fake News, largely fiction." He characterized Haberman as a "third rate writer and intellect, who has made a first rate income because of your favorite President, ME."
The former president has a history of using derogatory nicknames for critics. While attempting to insult Haberman, he misspelled her name on Truth Social, first referring to her as "Magot Hagerman" and later as "Margot."
The book co-authored by Haberman and Jonathan Swan reportedly includes several notable revelations about the Trump administration. Among these are details of a meeting held by senior Trump officials, without the president, in the White House Situation Room to discuss fallout from documents related to Jeffrey Epstein. The book also claims that Elon Musk acted as "co-president" for four months following financial contributions to Trump's potential 2025 election campaign. Additionally, it states that the Trump White House considered suspending habeas corpus, a fundamental legal right that protects against unlawful detention.
