Donald Trump concluded a Republican midterm convention on Thursday by leading the audience in a pledge to himself, asking attendees to raise their right hands and repeat, “I pledge to the greatest president in the history of the United States.” The crowd echoed the phrase, which Trump then extended to include, “that loves us so much he can’t even breathe.”

As the pledge continued, Trump incorporated a call to action regarding voting. He stated, “I will go out with my family, my friends, I’ll do it anyway, I don’t care if I’m registered or not. I’m going to try and cheat like hell like they do,” referencing perceived actions by opponents. He added, “There’s never been bigger cheaters, they don’t care. I am going to go out and I am going to get my friends, my family, and we are going to vote on Nov. 3rd or we are going to vote before that.” The crowd responded with cheers.

Trump attempted to guide the audience through the pledge, but became sidetracked by members of the crowd and other tangents. He tried to restart and finish the pledge multiple times. The event concluded with Trump telling the audience, “You know what happens if you don’t vote? You go to hell!” The crowd responded heartily to this statement.
