Trump Identifies Texas, Michigan as Key States in 2026 Midterm Concerns

Former President Donald Trump has expressed concern for the Republican party's performance in Texas and Michigan ahead of the 2026 midterm elections, urging supporters to turn out to vote.

Speaking to voters in Oklahoma, Trump stated that while Oklahoma was not a cause for concern, Republicans needed to focus on other states. "We're worried about Michigan. We're worried about Texas. We're worried about a few states," Trump told the crowd. He indicated that the party was focused on approximately 35 to 40 races that could determine the outcome of the midterms.

Trump encouraged his supporters to treat the upcoming elections as if he were personally on the ballot, imploring them to achieve a significant victory. "So you have to pretend I’m on the ticket and turn out for a midterm victory that’s really too big to rig," he said.

During his remarks, Trump also addressed issues such as inflation and immigration, reiterating claims about the number of migrants entering the U.S. during the Biden administration. These specific claims about migrants being sent from prisons and mental institutions have previously been disputed and lack supporting evidence.

Trump also critiqued Republicans for what he described as ineffective public relations, despite asserting that his administration had managed the country effectively.
