Trump Hosts Jungle-Themed Halloween Bash at Mar-a-Lago

Former President Donald Trump hosted a jungle-themed Halloween party at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, where guests donned a variety of costumes, including sequined leotards, feathered headdresses, and animal-inspired attire.

Trump, citing a busy schedule, told attendees he came dressed as himself for the occasion. "I've spent nine hours getting ready," he joked to the crowd. "I had ten minutes, so I came as Donald Trump tonight! Hello everybody."

Hundreds of guests attended the Saturday night event, enjoying crab and caviar. Among the attendees was Speaker Mike Johnson, while JD Vance opted for a family Halloween celebration in Washington D.C.

Guests arrived in elaborate costumes, with some dressing as exotic birds with colorful wings, while others opted for reptilian scales with rhinestone makeup and ornate headpieces. Animal-themed costumes, such as cheetahs, zebras, and lions, were also popular.

The party took place just three days before the midterm elections, with more than 52 million Americans having already cast their ballots. Polling ahead of the elections indicated a potential 'blue wave' for Democrats, with numerous key races for Senate, House, and governor seats being contested.

Trump had reversed a decision to cancel his planned rally in Iowa, where he was scheduled to speak to support Republican candidates. His appearance in Iowa and Kansas came after initial cancellations, as races in those states proved to be more competitive than anticipated for conservative candidates.

In Iowa, polls showed Democrat Rob Sand leading Republican Zach Lahn in the gubernatorial race. Republican Congresswoman Ashley Hinson, endorsed by Trump, was in a close contest for a Senate seat against state lawmaker Josh Turek, who received support from former President Barack Obama. Three of Iowa's four House races were rated as toss-ups by The Cook Political Report.
