President Trump presented the National Medal of Science and the National Medal of Technology and Innovation to six prominent figures in the tech industry on October 8 during the Golden Age of American Innovation Summit. The awards recognize leaders for their contributions to scientific and technological advancement.
Recipients of the National Medal of Science included Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, Google co-founder Sergey Brin, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, and AMD CEO Lisa Su. The National Medal of Technology and Innovation was awarded to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Dell Technologies CEO Michael Dell.
During the ceremony, Trump lauded the honorees as "visionary pioneers" who are instrumental in maintaining the United States' position at the forefront of global scientific and technological progress.
