Trump Establishes 'Super Intelligence Force' to Lead US on AI
The newly formed taskforce, led by DNI Jay Clayton, will coordinate the government's engagement with AI companies and stakeholders.
President Donald Trump announced on Sunday the creation of a new Super Intelligence Force (SIF) tasked with guiding the United States' efforts in artificial intelligence.
The taskforce will be led by Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton and will include Chairman of the Federal Trade Commission Andrew Ferguson, Pentagon chief technology officer Emil Michael, and Director of the Office of Personnel Management Scott Kupor.
The SIF's responsibilities will encompass coordinating the government's interactions with religious organizations, providers, consumers, and artificial intelligence companies. President Trump stated that the force will ensure America's continued global leadership in AI, a field he described as potentially more significant than the Industrial Revolution or the internet, aiming to protect national interests and enhance the lives of all Americans.
The group will report directly to President Trump and Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. The announcement followed a White House Accord on Super Intelligence hosted by Trump the previous week.
