Trump Enraged by Allegations of Missing Funds, Orders Probe into Ally

Donald Trump reacted with fury after former personal lawyer Alina Habba presented allegations of a plot to misappropriate $5.6 million, which reportedly involved MAGA loyalist Richard Grenell. White House sources told the Daily Mail that Habba detailed the accusations directly to Trump in the Oval Office.

Following the meeting, Trump ordered an internal investigation into Grenell, a close ally. The inquiry is being led by Scharf out of the White House Counsel's Office. By Wednesday afternoon, lawyers for an individual identified as Mildon had delivered text messages and other evidence related to the allegations to the Counsel's Office.

Grenell, who previously served as U.S. Ambassador to Germany and acted as acting Director of National Intelligence, has faced scrutiny in the past. He led the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts from February to March, stepping down after a period described as tumultuous. Habba, who represented Trump in several legal battles, is reportedly set to marry a Turkish businessman.
