Former US President Donald Trump's stock portfolio saw millions of dollars in trades during July, with transactions involving major technology and artificial intelligence companies, according to official disclosures. Across more than 1,000 trades, shares were also bought and sold in Nvidia, a prominent AI company, and Palantir, a software firm that contracts with the U.S. Department of Defense and Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Thousands of dollars’ worth of stock was also traded in SpaceX, the rocket, satellite, and AI company led by Elon Musk.
SpaceX shares were listed on the Nasdaq stock market in June. While the company's stock price has experienced fluctuations, including a decline in July and August, it is currently trading 14% higher than its debut price. Shares in Tesla, Musk's electric vehicle manufacturer, were also bought and sold on behalf of Trump.
A White House spokesperson stated that Trump's stock and bond portfolio is managed independently by third parties. The spokesperson clarified that neither President Trump nor his family has any ability to direct, influence, or provide input regarding investment decisions or the timing of trades, asserting that no conflicts of interest exist.
