President Trump announced Tuesday evening that he is delaying the planned implementation of 50% tariffs on most Canadian imports for three days. Trump teased on social media that an agreement may be in place between Washington and Ottawa, potentially reviving the Keystone XL pipeline project.

"I have paused the 50% Tariffs against Canada, that were scheduled to kick in tomorrow morning for a three day period," Trump wrote on Truth Social. "based on the fact that Canada and the U.S.A., subject to the finalization of documents, have a DEAL!"

He added, "The great Keystone XL Pipeline, long ago killed by Sleepy Joe Biden, may be awoken from the grave!"

The tariffs were set to impact a wide range of goods entering the United States from Canada. The announcement of the delay and the mention of the pipeline project suggest ongoing negotiations between the two North American nations.
