Trump Declares Himself the Sole Guardian of AI Safety

Former President Donald Trump has asserted that he is the only necessary safeguard for the safe use of artificial intelligence in the United States, citing his own intellect as the primary regulatory measure. Trump stated on social media this week that "The only control or 'guardrails' that AI needs is a strong and smart (High IQ!) president, and the U.S.A. has that, in spades!"
This declaration comes amid rising global apprehension regarding the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence. Recent warnings from AI researchers have highlighted the technology's potential to pose significant threats, with one lead researcher at Anthropic suggesting AI could hypothetically "kill all humans."
Trump, however, has also alleged a "sick conspiracy" targeting AI data centers, suggesting that such actions are encouraged by China. He posited that the United States' cautious approach to AI deployment benefits China, and some researchers have suggested that protests against data centers may be influenced by Chinese officials.
"Whoever wins AI, wins," Trump continued in his social media post. "We are leading China, and all others, and will continue to do so. Conspiracy Theorists, Treasonists, Traitors, and Leakers, beware!"
