Trump Criticizes Polls, Pledges to Defeat 'Communists' at Ohio Rally

President Donald Trump asserted that Republican candidates will overcome poll disadvantages now that he is actively campaigning, speaking Saturday night at a rally in Dayton, Ohio. Trump told the crowd that polls fail to account for his personal engagement on the campaign trail.

"These fake polls, they don't account for one thing. They don't account for the fact that Trump is out campaigning. They never thought this was good. They never thought this was going to happen," Trump stated, according to Fox News.

A recent Fox News Poll indicated that Democrats have a more favorable path to victory in the House of Representatives, projecting 215 seats for the party compared to 201 for the GOP. This suggests Democrats would need three more wins from 19 toss-up races to secure a majority, while Republicans would need to win at least 17.

Trump also vowed to defeat what he described as "communists, socialist, radicalized lunatics and villains once and for all." He added, "We're going to put them down once and for all."

A memo circulating among House Republicans outlines four key themes for the final weeks before Election Day: the border, the economy, public safety, and the use of taxpayer dollars. Republicans are also seeking to capitalize on a perceived shift towards socialism within the Democratic Party, arguing that this movement alienates a significant portion of the American electorate.

The economy, marked by high prices for gas and groceries, has become a central issue in the current election cycle. Democrats have sought to leverage voter concerns about the cost of living against Republicans, pointing to policies such as former President Trump's tariffs and the war in Iran.
