Trump Criticizes Fox News for Lack of Rally Coverage
Former President Donald Trump publicly criticized Fox News on Truth Social for failing to cover his recent rally in Ohio, accusing the network of prioritizing 'Communists, Socialists, and Dumocrats' over MAGA supporters.
Former President Donald Trump has issued a rare public rebuke of Fox News, criticizing the MAGA-friendly network for its lack of coverage of his rally in Vandalia, Ohio. In a series of posts on Truth Social, Trump expressed disappointment that "Fox & Friends Sunday" did not feature his campaign event.
Trump's critique extended to other recent rallies in Alabama, Texas, and Oklahoma, which he also stated were not covered by the network. The rally in Ohio took place approximately one month before the November midterms and aimed to support Republican candidates, including Senator Jon Husted and gubernatorial nominee Vivek Ramaswamy.
"Our people want to see our Rallies, and reports on our Rallies, on FoxNews, or they will very quickly stop watching (like I am doing right now!)," Trump wrote. He further alleged that "Fox spends more time talking to Communists, Socialists, and Dumocrats, often without rebuttal, and MAGA is not, to put it mildly, happy."
The former president specifically called out Fox News panelist Jessica Tarlov, stating, "We don’t like stupid Jessica Tarlov, and all of the others, that are forced down MAGA’S throats." He emphasized the enthusiasm at his rallies, describing them as "the hottest things out there, tremendous love in those sold out arenas, and nothing shows up on Fox!"
Trump also commented on the recent departure of Maria Bartiromo from Fox News, questioning the decisions made by network executives. He suggested that Bartiromo was fired after complaining about not being allowed to cover his statements on election fraud. Trump expressed confidence in Bartiromo's future endeavors.
"Cover our “happenings,” and not the opposition to Greatness for America, or FoxNews will soon have the ratings of FAKE NEWS CNN or MSNOW (MSDNC)," Trump warned. He also recalled a previous instance where he claimed Fox News nearly went out of business after a similar approach.
Despite his criticisms, Trump later posted graphics and a segment from Fox News that highlighted his administration's actions against alleged Obamacare fraud. Trump has frequently voiced criticism of CNN and MSNBC, a sentiment he reiterated at his Ohio rally, where he also commented on CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins.
Trump is reportedly planning an extensive campaign schedule in the lead-up to the November elections, with planned appearances in Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, and Ohio. The race in Ohio is considered critical as Republicans and Democrats compete for control of the Senate.
