Critics have sharply criticized former President Donald Trump's explanation for a secretive departure from Air Force One last month, describing his claims as illogical and cowardly. Trump asserted that the military aircraft he used was at greater risk than the initial Air Force One, which carried media and some staff.

This maneuver involved Trump departing the first aircraft, which was ostensibly Air Force One, via a catering container. He was then transported in this container to a waiting U.S. military C-32A for the flight to the United Kingdom. During this time, the initial aircraft maintained the Air Force One call sign, creating the impression that Trump remained aboard.

Trump's justification for the security precaution was that the plane he was on would be a more likely target for adversaries. However, critics pointed out a significant flaw in his logic: the public, including the press and staff, saw him board the initial Air Force One, making it the less likely decoy.

"Coward and liar," one social media user posted. "He had them encode the plane he was not on as Air Force 1. What a cowardly act from a President during wartime." Another commenter questioned, "So he purposely sneaked on the plane that was at greater risk? His only interest was in saving himself."

The incident has drawn accusations of the former president prioritizing his own safety while leaving others, unknowingly, in a potentially riskier situation.
