Former President Donald Trump stated Friday that his MAGA Inc. super PAC has amassed “around a billion dollars” and that he controls these funds, which he intends to use for Republican campaigns and potentially future races.

Trump told reporters that this money is separate from the Republican National Committee and other party funds. "This is my money, that I control," he said. "And I think it’s not even counted, in terms of the media. I’m not sure that they ever talk about it, they just found out about it, but yeah we have around a billion dollars that I can spend."

He indicated that he could use the funds for the 2028 election, stating, "I could use it for ’28 if I want, sure. I mean, I expect to have money left over." Trump has previously floated the idea of running for president again in 2028.

Despite Trump's assertion of a near-$1 billion war chest, the super PAC's latest Federal Election Commission filing as of July 31 reported $403.45 million. The organization has spent approximately $21 million since the beginning of 2025.

Concerns have been growing among Republicans regarding the PAC's spending in key midterm races. Some ads reportedly focus on Trump himself rather than the candidates on the ballot. When asked about spending on behalf of Ken Paxton, the Texas Republican nominee for U.S. Senate whom Trump endorsed, Trump replied, "We already did."

Trump suggested his approach to fund allocation involves personal decisions: "I sit down and I say let’s do this, let’s do that. I’m going to be going around, I’m going to be making contributions to various campaigns of ... Republicans that I think are good, people that I think are going to win, can win or are close to winning."

Some Republicans have expressed a desire for Trump to distance himself from their campaigns, even as Trump has reportedly told advisers that the funds would be best used to highlight his past achievements.
