Donald Trump's 2024 campaign adviser, Bryan Lanza, has stated he does not understand the former president's persistent focus on a White House construction project, particularly given unfavorable public polling on the issue.

During a recent broadcast on CNN's "The Arena," Lanza was asked why Trump remains "so focused on it, given the politics don’t seem to be good for him?" Lanza responded directly, "No clue."

Lanza acknowledged that the political implications surrounding the construction of the ballroom, which involved the demolition of the East Wing, "do not appear to be good." He expressed bewilderment about the continued emphasis on the project, stating, "I don’t know why we’re still pushing on this one. I don’t, I don’t have… I’ve got nothing on this."

He later attempted to differentiate between the above-ground ballroom construction, which is currently stalled by lawsuits, and a subsurface military complex component. Lanza described the latter as "critical" and noted that its progress is permitted to continue. He suggested that the two aspects of the project have become conflated and indicated he would have presented the ballroom project to the public differently.
