President Donald Trump suggested that basketball star LeBron James might be "a racist" when asked to compare him to Michael Jordan as the greatest player in the sport's history. Trump, who plays golf with Jordan, stated his preference for the six-time NBA champion.

"I think LeBron is, maybe he's a racist, but maybe he doesn't like Trump. I don't know. I only like people that like me, so I would say Michael Jordan all the way," Trump said during a White House news conference.

James, 41, has been a vocal critic of Trump during his presidency and has endorsed Democratic candidates. In 2017, James referred to Trump as "a bum" following a dispute over White House invitations for championship-winning NBA teams.

LeBron James announced on Friday that he will continue his career with the Philadelphia 76ers. He has won four NBA titles and is the league's all-time leader in points and games played. James expressed his belief that he can help the 76ers become a championship team, joining All-Stars Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Jaylen Brown in Philadelphia.
