President Donald Trump characterized a security scare at his Southern California golf course, where a heavily armed suspect was arrested days before his visit, as an expected part of being a "consequential" leader. The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Jeanine John Taele, was found at Trump National Golf Club Los Angeles with weapons, ammunition, tactical gear, and personal documents.

During an interview with Fox News @ Night, Trump largely dismissed the incident. "The only thing I get a little solace from is they say only consequential presidents, and I am definitely consequential," he told host Trace Gallagher.

Instead of dwelling on the arrest, Trump shifted the conversation to foreign policy and domestic political issues. He addressed the ongoing tensions with Iran, stating, "I have no choice. They can't have a nuclear weapon." He also criticized the rise of socialism, asserting that such ideologies "want to ruin the country" and that nations adopting them become "filthy, disgusting and dirty."

The interview occurred shortly after Trump's visit to the Los Angeles area for a Republican National Committee fundraising dinner at the same golf club. The president's appearance coincided with heightened political tensions, as large groups of both supporters and anti-Trump demonstrators gathered outside the venue. California Governor Gavin Newsom also publicly criticized Trump's visit through social media and official state communications.
