Trump Bars CNN, MS NOW, Politico from White House

President Trump announced Friday that he is barring reporters from CNN, MS Now, and Politico from the White House, citing their alleged reporting of "Fake News." The announcement, made on the social media platform Truth Social, stated the ban would be effective immediately.

In his statement, Trump accused the media outlets of "constant 'reporting' FAKE NEWS!" He further asserted that "Media Outlets shouldn’t be able to constantly write or report FICTION and LIES when they’re covering the President of the United States, the Trump Administration, or the United States of America." Trump also indicated that additional "Fake News Media Outlets" would follow suit.

The ban, if enforced, would represent a significant escalation in the administration's relationship with the press. While previous administrations, both Democratic and Republican, have engaged in selective discrimination against media outlets by limiting access to events, an outright ban on working from the White House grounds is unprecedented. Such a move would likely face legal challenges, particularly concerning First Amendment rights.
