Trump Bans CNN, Politico, and MS NOW From White House

Donald Trump has announced an immediate ban on CNN, Politico, and MS NOW from accessing the White House. The former president stated in a Truth Social post that the ban was a consequence of their "constant 'reporting' FAKE NEWS!" and suggested that other media outlets might follow.

Trump elaborated on his decision in the Oval Office, saying the ban was "cumulative stories of the last two years" that had become tiresome. The term "fake news" has been a consistent criticism from Trump, often applied to unfavorable but factually accurate reporting about him and his administration.

Legal experts suggest that such a ban may be unconstitutional, potentially violating the First Amendment. This situation draws parallels to a previous attempt by the White House to ban the Associated Press, which was ultimately blocked by a federal judge. In that instance, a judge ruled that if the government grants access to some journalists, it cannot deny access to others based on their viewpoints.

Trump's actions against the press have intensified during his second term. This move follows other instances of media restrictions, including the Pentagon's ban on press access to its press office earlier this year. The Pentagon's attempt to implement a restrictive new press policy for reporters covering the building was also struck down by a court in March.

Additionally, Trump has repeatedly threatened the broadcast licenses of networks such as ABC and NBC. In response to an FCC review of its licenses, ABC filed a lawsuit last month.
