Former President Donald Trump arrived at the Freedom 250 Grand Prix, a high-speed IndyCar race held through the streets of Washington D.C. Organizers projected an attendance of approximately 140,000 people, with many general admission tickets distributed via a lottery.

Premium ticket packages were reportedly selling for around $3,600 for a pair, according to CBS, the BBC's U.S. partner. The event necessitated significant logistical and security preparations for the city, including widespread road closures, bolted manholes, and road resurfacing.

The Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport experienced a three-hour airspace closure, affecting primarily domestic flights, to accommodate a U.S. military flyover. This flyover included Air Force One, seen with the Capitol building in the background over the racetrack. The Beast with Air Force One flying overhead

Trump took a ceremonial lap of the track prior to the race. The event is a component of a series of summer activities intended to commemorate the country's 250th birthday. Earlier in the summer, Trump hosted a UFC event on the White House lawn and a Fourth of July fireworks show.
