Trump Attacks Ossoff in Georgia Rally, Highlights New Audi Plant

Former President Donald Trump on Saturday criticized Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff, labeling him a "far-left extremist" at a rally in Perry, Georgia. Trump asserted that Ossoff's voting record has contributed to inflation and increased illegal immigration under the Biden administration.

"Jon Ossoff is a far-left extremist that votes to destroy everything Georgia values," Trump told the crowd, which responded with boos directed at the senator.

During the same rally, Trump announced that Audi has committed to a $4.2 billion investment in a new manufacturing plant near Macon, Georgia. He stated that construction on the facility, which is projected to produce 200,000 cars annually, is slated to begin next month.

The rally was held to support Republican candidate Mike Collins, who is challenging Ossoff for his Senate seat, and Rick Jackson, who is running for governor against former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance-Bottoms.

According to a recent poll by the AJC, Ossoff is leading Collins by eight percentage points, with 48% of the vote compared to Collins's 40%, and 12% of voters remain undecided. Ossoff is also reportedly considered a potential contender for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2028.
