Trump Approves Firing Squad Execution for Fort Hood Shooter Nidal Hasan

President Donald J. Trump has approved the use of a firing squad to execute Nidal Malik Hasan, the convicted terrorist responsible for the 2009 Fort Hood shooting. The Pentagon announced the decision on Monday.

In November 2009, Hasan opened fire on unarmed soldiers at the Texas Army base, killing 12 service members and one civilian, and wounding 32 others. During the attack, Hasan was reportedly shouting "Allahu Akbar."

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth recommended the firing squad execution, which President Trump then approved. "Judgement day for Hasan has finally come," Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell stated in a post on X.

The Pentagon confirmed that the Secretary of the Army will determine the specific time and place for the execution. The Army-officer-turned-terrorist was convicted following the deadly rampage.
