Trump Appoints Beni Rae Harmony as Assistant Press Secretary
The 24-year-old former White House correspondent for Real America's Voice joins the communications team following Karoline Leavitt's departure.
Beni Rae Harmony, 24, has been appointed Assistant Press Secretary and White House spokesperson, joining Donald Trump's communications team. Harmony previously served as Senior White House Correspondent for the conservative network Real America's Voice.
Harmony confirmed her new role, reposting congratulations from Real America's Voice Vice President Parker Sigg. Sigg praised Harmony's work ethic, reporting skills, and ability to connect with audiences. White House spokesperson Anna Kelly stated that Harmony has been a trusted voice for the MAGA movement and will be an outstanding addition to the team.
Harmony's career includes a previous role as a producer and administrator for Charlie Kirk's organization, Turning Point USA, from August 2021 to February 2022. She reportedly resigned from her position at WICS-ABC20 after a suspension for an on-air tribute to Charlie Kirk following his assassination.
According to TMZ, Trump allegedly took a liking to Harmony and was seen reviewing a file on her aboard Air Force One on September 13. This hire comes as the White House communications team undergoes changes.
Karoline Leavitt, Trump's former press secretary, announced her departure on August 12, citing a desire to spend more time with her two young children. Leavitt, the youngest press secretary in U.S. history, stated that the 24/7 demands of the role were incompatible with raising her children. She has since rejoined Trump's Super PAC MAGA Inc. as a spokeswoman.
Leavitt's departure, occurring less than three months before the November midterm elections, prompted a search for her successor. Insiders suggested that burnout contributed to her decision, though Trump reportedly supported her during her tenure and maternity leave. No successor for Leavitt has been officially announced prior to Harmony's appointment as Assistant Press Secretary.
