During a media availability on Sunday, former President Donald Trump appeared confused when questioned about a Truth Social post he made on the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. The post in question was a video from January 6, 2021, which he had originally recorded for the supporters who attacked the U.S. Capitol.
On Friday, Trump shared about a dozen posts and reposts on Truth Social, including the video where he repeated false claims about the 2020 election results and told the rioters, "We love you. You're very special." He also instructed them to "go home in peace."
When a reporter on Air Force One asked Trump about the message he intended by reposting that specific video on 9/11, he initially asked for clarification. "Well, I posted about 30. Which one are you talking about?" Trump responded.
After the reporter specified, "You posted a video you took and posted on January 6th asking the rioters to go back home," Trump stated, "I don’t know what she’s talking about."
