Trump Announces $2.4 Billion Tech Investment for Federal AI Mission
Nvidia, OpenAI, and other tech giants pledge funds to accelerate AI-driven scientific research across 14 federal agencies.
President Trump announced Thursday that major technology companies have committed $2.4 billion to bolster the federal government's artificial intelligence-driven scientific research efforts.
The initiative, known as the Genesis Mission, aims to leverage AI to advance scientific developments across 14 federal agencies, spanning sectors such as energy, health, and space. The funding will support the mission's expansion and integration.
Nvidia is the largest contributor, pledging $1 billion toward the effort. Other significant contributions include $500 million from AMD, $200 million from OpenAI, and $150 million each from Anthropic and Google. Additional pledges of $100 million each come from AMP and Emerald AI, with AWS, Armada, Crusoe, and Micron each contributing $50 million.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang stated that the company's investment will provide American scientists with advanced superintelligence capabilities to accelerate breakthroughs in medicine, energy, and materials science.
The Genesis Mission was initially launched in November 2025 under the Department of Energy.
