Gigantic inflatables of Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin kissing were a notable feature of Amsterdam's WorldPride Canal Parade this weekend. Video circulating online depicted revelers on a boat amidst electronic music as the towering figures were inflated.

The installation, titled “The Kissing Couple,” initially showed the figures appearing to face off, each holding flowers behind their backs. They were then moved together to create the illusion of a kiss.

Organizers stated their intention was not to provoke but "to pause power for a moment and highlight something human." Trump has previously expressed admiration for Putin, who has enacted strict anti-LGBTQ+ laws in Russia. The pairing has been depicted kissing before, notably in a street mural that emerged prior to the 2016 U.S. presidential election.
