Trump Administration's New AI Government Portal Features 'Easter Eggs'

The Trump administration has launched a new AI-powered government platform, America.gov, designed to consolidate information from over 29,000 federal websites. Since its unveiling, users have begun exploring the site and uncovering a variety of hidden features, referred to by developers as "Easter eggs."

One notable discovery involved typing the phrase "Play Minecraft" into the platform's search bar. This prompted a lengthy and unusual response that appeared to mimic the "End Poem" from the video game Minecraft, but with its original text adapted to include references to government bureaucracy, privacy, and federal programs. Fox News Digital was able to trigger this response on Wednesday, but by Thursday, the same prompt no longer produced the same result.

A White House official stated that America.gov will continue to be updated to provide accurate federal information. Developers from National Design Studio (NDS), who worked on the platform, confirmed that surprises were intentionally embedded. Adam Bhaloo, an NDS team member, posted on social media, "We put Easter eggs all over https://America.gov Enjoy finding them."

Another discovered feature transforms the chatbot's input bar into a hot dog when users type the word "hotdog." This interaction has circulated on social media, with users sharing screenshots and comments. One user noted, "29,000 agencies. One glizzy."

Beyond these interactive elements, the site also features visual customizations. When users search for specific national monuments such as the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, Statue of Liberty, or Gateway Arch, the website's logo at the top left changes from an American flag to an image of the monument prompted. The AI also provides visitation instructions for these locations.

The America.gov platform is intended to serve as a central hub for federal information and resources. U.S. Chief Design Officer Joe Gebbia indicated that by 2027, the site is expected to allow citizens to complete government forms online and track application progress, integrating more federal services. President Trump expressed that the platform will eventually assist Americans with tasks ranging from reserving campsite reservations to obtaining benefits.
