Trump Administration Revokes Over 300,000 Visas

The Trump administration has revoked more than 300,000 visas since President Trump began his second term, according to an announcement from the State Department. A State Department official indicated that these revocations were a consequence of criminal activity, threats to public safety, or immigration violations such as fraud or misrepresentation.

Among the revoked visas, at least 4,000 were identified as belonging to foreign nationals engaged in or facilitating “birth tourism.” The State Department spokesman Tommy Pigott stated, “With over 300,000 revocations, the Trump administration has revoked more visas at a faster pace than any administration in history.” Pigott added, “Let the message be clear: we have zero tolerance for foreigners here on visas who break the law, commit fraud, or undermine our national security. We are taking, and will continue to take, action to keep our borders, and our nation, secure.”

The nationalities of the individuals whose visas were revoked were not immediately disclosed. Last month, the department had confirmed approximately 250,000 revocations since January 2025. The pace of these revocations has reportedly accelerated significantly in 2026, following a figure of 23,000 cases vetted by the Bureau of Consular Affairs in the previous year. Analysis of the revoked visas in 2025 indicated that a quarter were linked to assaults or related crimes, 22% were for driving under the influence, 7% for theft, and another 7% for substance abuse or distribution.
