The Trump administration has revoked more than 175,000 visas, primarily due to encounters with law enforcement for a range of criminal activities. Federal officials indicated that offenses such as assault, driving under the influence, theft, and drug crimes were leading causes for these cancellations.

A significant portion of the revoked visas were also linked to offenses including reckless driving, sexual assault, child abuse, fraud and embezzlement, and other crimes. The State Department highlighted specific examples, noting that some foreign nationals had been charged with violent and sexual offenses, including rape, sexual battery, kidnapping, and human trafficking.

Instances of domestic violence and sodomy involving a minor were also cited. Additionally, the department pointed to individuals involved in substantial fraud schemes. One case involved a person accused of building a company based on falsified revenue figures, defrauding investors out of millions. Another example cited a visa holder who allegedly orchestrated a Medicaid scam, billing for over $5 million in fraudulent services.
