Trump Administration Announces $90 Payments for Millions of Medicare Enrollees

The Trump administration is set to distribute nearly $100 to over 20 million Medicare beneficiaries, the White House announced Friday. The one-time payments of $90 are intended to assist eligible individuals enrolled in Medicare Part B with their premium costs.

Most recipients are expected to receive the funds via direct deposit early this month. Those who do not typically receive federal payments electronically will be sent a check to their registered Medicare address. The administration stated that no application is necessary for eligible individuals.

However, not all Medicare beneficiaries will qualify for the payment. Individuals whose Medicare premiums are already covered by Medicaid are excluded. Additionally, higher-income beneficiaries who pay an Income-Related Monthly Adjustment Amount (IRMAA) are also ineligible for the distribution. The White House has indicated that more than 20 million people are expected to benefit from this initiative.
