Trump Adds Beni Rae Harmony to White House Communications Team

Donald Trump has appointed Beni Rae Harmony, 24, as Assistant Press Secretary and White House spokesperson, bolstering his communications staff following Karoline Leavitt's departure. Harmony joins the team after previously serving as Senior White House Correspondent for the conservative network Real America's Voice.

Harmony confirmed her new role, with Real America's Voice Vice President Parker Sigg praising her "relentless work ethic, sharp reporting, incredible energy, and a unique ability to connect with our audience from the front lines of the White House." She began her tenure at Real America's Voice in September 2025.

Before her time at Real America's Voice, Harmony worked as a producer and administrator for Charlie Kirk's organization, Turning Point USA, from August 2021 to February 2022. She previously resigned from WICS-ABC20, where she had been suspended for an on-air tribute to Charlie Kirk. White House spokesperson Anna Kelly stated that Harmony has been a "trusted voice for the MAGA movement" and will be an "outstanding addition to President Trump's communications team."

Trump has reportedly taken a personal interest in Harmony, having been seen reviewing a file on her aboard Air Force One on September 13.

Karoline Leavitt, who served as Trump's press secretary, announced her departure on August 12, citing a desire to spend more time with her two young children. Leavitt, the youngest press secretary in American history, stated that the demanding nature of the role, coupled with raising young children, led to her decision. She has since rejoined Trump's Super PAC MAGA Inc. as a spokeswoman. There has been no official announcement of a successor to Leavitt from the podium.

Leavitt described Trump as an "understanding boss and a friend" who supported her appointment despite her age. She noted that the decision of her replacement rests entirely with him, acknowledging a list of qualified individuals without naming candidates. Her departure before the midterm elections reportedly caused internal scrambling, with insiders suggesting burnout from the job's demands, even during her maternity leave.
