Trump Accuses Walz and Omar of '100% Guilty' Minnesota Benefit Fraud

Former President Donald Trump asserted on Tuesday that Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar are “100% guilty” of enabling extensive benefit fraud within the state. Trump made these remarks while introducing a new initiative designed to reward individuals who report further instances of theft.

“The governor is 100% guilty. He's 100% guilty. He's a fraud. He's a thief. He's a crook, and he's getting away by just getting out of office,” Trump stated regarding Governor Walz. He also referred to Omar as “that little congresswoman, lovely little woman she is,” adding, “She knew, they all knew.

Trump was accompanied in the Oval Office by Vice President JD Vance and conservative vlogger Nick Shirley. Shirley gained significant attention in December 2025 for a video detailing his attempts to visit Minneapolis childcare facilities. Shirley's report suggested that dormant daycare centers were allegedly defrauding the federal government of millions of dollars.

The political fallout from these allegations prompted Governor Walz to announce he would not seek re-election in November, reversing his earlier decision to run for a third term.
