True Crime Podcaster Criticizes '60 Minutes' Interview with Patrick Clancy

A prominent true crime podcaster has criticized the recent "60 Minutes" interview with Patrick Clancy, describing it as one of the "worst interviews I’ve seen in a long time." Briana Whitney, a contributor for the "Crime Junkie Podcast," stated in a viral TikTok video that the interview failed to probe Clancy on substantive issues.
Clancy, whose ex-wife Lindsay Clancy was found guilty of killing their three young children in a mistrial verdict, appeared on "60 Minutes" with his new wife, Rachel Danis. The couple, who married in April, also shared that they are expecting their first child together. Whitney suggested that the pregnancy announcement was the most significant new information revealed during the interview.
"Patrick wasn’t really asked anything by the host of actual substance…Literally any of the questions you had – not answered, not asked," Whitney asserted in her critique. She also noted that the interview touched briefly on how Clancy and Danis met while running in New York City, a detail Clancy provided as he had relocated there after his children's deaths in January 2023. However, Whitney felt the conversation quickly moved on without further exploration of their relationship.
Patrick Clancy has been the subject of conspiracy theories circulating on social media, with some wrongly suggesting he was responsible for his children's deaths despite his ex-wife's admission in court. Lindsay Clancy strangled their children, Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, before attempting suicide by jumping from a window, which left her paralyzed. The trial for Lindsay Clancy concluded with a mistrial in August 2026.
