Featured speakers include former New York City death investigator Barbara Butcher, who will share insights into death investigations. Georgia defense attorney McCracken Poston Jr. will discuss his work on the mysterious death of Virginia Ridley. Retired FBI agent Scott Duffey is scheduled to speak about the bureau's methods for eliciting confessions.
Crime scene investigator Sheryl McCollum will host a "Wine & Crime" evening, and forensic artist Joe Mullins will demonstrate his techniques for recreating faces from skulls to identify unidentified individuals. The festival also provides opportunities for attendees to interact with experts and authors during social events, workshops, trivia, and themed dinners.
Events will be held at The Alida Savannah, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, and Hotel Orielle, an Autograph Collection Hotel, both affiliated with Marriott Hotels. The festival programming includes historical tours of Savannah, focusing on the city's reported ghostly happenings, dark stories, and true crime history.
