Tropical Storm Bertha is causing widespread flight delays and cancellations across the United States, impacting major airports including those in California. As of Wednesday morning, hundreds of flights were affected, with San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) facing numerous disruptions.
FlightAware's Misery Map, which tracks delayed or canceled flights, showed that approximately 24 flights departing from LAX were tagged with "misery" status. At SFO, 19 flights experienced delays, and two were canceled.
Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport reported the most significant mix of delays and cancellations nationally, with over half of its flights impacted. The storm is forecast to bring rain, flooding, and strong winds to Florida and Louisiana as it continues its westward track.
Bertha made landfall on July 22, leading to air traffic issues that extended beyond the immediate landfall region. The storm's path through the Gulf Coast prompted significant operational challenges for airlines and airports nationwide.
