Trisha Yearwood Highlights Weight Loss at Star-Studded Animal Charity Gala

Country star Trisha Yearwood, 62, showcased a significantly slimmer physique at the Best Friends Animal Society's Annual Benefit Gala in New York City on Monday.
Yearwood, known for her musical career and marriage to Garth Brooks, attended the event in a tailored black suit paired with a white button-up shirt that accentuated her weight loss. Her appearance marked a rare red carpet moment for the singer.
The singer has previously spoken candidly about her efforts to manage her weight. In 2013, she told People magazine that she had tried numerous diets and engaged in activities like Zumba as part of her fitness routine. At that time, she reported going from a "tight size 14" to a size 10, and by 2017, The Sun reported she had lost approximately 55 pounds.
Yearwood's approach has involved a disciplined diet, aiming for a low-fat, low-sugar plan about 90% of the time, while allowing for occasional indulgences. She has expressed that maintaining her weight loss is a result of consistent hard work.
The gala, held at The Glasshouse in New York City, supported the Best Friends Animal Society, an organization focused on animal rescue and adoption. Attendees had opportunities to interact with adoptable puppies and kittens.
Other notable guests included "Queer Eye" star Antoni Porowski, "The View" co-host Sara Haines, and singer Michelle Williams. Haines, who hosted the event, shared her personal connection to animal rescue, while Porowski emphasized the importance of pets as family members.
Yearwood's red carpet appearance occurred two years after a former makeup artist accused her husband, Garth Brooks, of sexual assault and battery. The lawsuit, filed in California state court in 2024, alleged inappropriate conduct dating back to when the makeup artist was hired in 1999 and later worked for Brooks in 2017. Brooks has denied these accusations, calling them a "hush money" shakedown, and the legal proceedings are ongoing.
