Multiple children sustained injuries when a tree fell at the PGL Activity Centre in Hindhead, Surrey, on Monday afternoon. One child was airlifted to a London hospital with a serious leg injury, while six others were transported to Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford with less severe injuries. Eleven individuals received treatment at the scene and were subsequently discharged.

Emergency services, including the South Central Ambulance Service, South East Coast Ambulance Service, Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, Surrey Police, and Surrey Fire & Rescue Service, were dispatched to the PGL Marchants Hill site following the incident, which occurred around 1:40 p.m. local time. An air ambulance team, consisting of a doctor and two advanced paramedics, arrived at the scene at approximately 1:55 p.m. Surrey Police reported receiving notification of the injured individuals shortly before 2:00 p.m.

PGL, which operates the activity center set within 45 acres of woodland, confirmed the incident. "A number of children were injured and are receiving medical treatment as required. Our thoughts are with everyone affected," a PGL spokesperson stated. The company emphasized that the safety and well-being of children and staff are its top priority and that it is cooperating with schools and emergency services.

The PGL Hindhead center is frequently utilized by schools, youth groups, and holiday camps for activities such as climbing, zip-lining, archery, and water sports.

Gregory Stafford, the Member of Parliament for Farnham and Bordon, expressed his thoughts were with the children and their families, acknowledging the swift response of emergency services. He noted that while there were no reported fatalities, emergency services remained at the site.

This incident occurs just over a year after a seven-year-old girl died and several other children were injured when a tree partially collapsed in Chalkwell Park, Southend-on-Sea, in June 2025. That earlier event led to a police investigation and questions regarding the tree's condition.
