NFL star Travis Kelce has purchased a sprawling 131-year-old mansion on the shores of Lake Erie for $5.35 million. The property, located on 3.5 acres just outside Cleveland, was recently renovated and boasts 21,000 square feet of living space.

Property records revealed Kelce closed on the home in March, adding to the couple's extensive real estate holdings. The mansion features eight bedrooms, a ballroom, a home theater, and a two-bedroom guest cottage that previously served as the property's gatehouse. A large swimming pool is situated in the backyard, and the estate is conveniently located near a private airport.

Inside, the home is characterized by significant wooden decor, including an open staircase with decorative griffin statues on the posts. Other interior details include a lounge area with a large fireplace and blue walls, a cozier sitting room with a fireplace and bookcase, and a dining room with tall stained glass windows. The home's exterior features a brick facade, an old-fashioned streetlight, and a U-shaped driveway.

Attention to detail has been a major part of the wooden panels around many rooms

Kelce, a native of Cleveland Heights, has expressed pride in his Cuyahoga County roots. The property is situated in Bratenahl, a small, secluded village on Lake Erie known for its grand estates and history of summer homes for wealthy Cleveland families. The village, with just 1,430 residents according to the 2020 census, offers a quiet atmosphere minutes from downtown.

The purchase comes months before Kelce's wedding to Taylor Swift. The couple reportedly had nine homes in early July, including properties in New York, Rhode Island, Nashville, and California, in addition to Kelce's existing mansion in Kansas City.

In addition to the mansion, Kelce and Swift have also recently acquired a white Samoyed dog, rumored to be named Wendy. The dog made its debut in a Tommy Hilfiger ad campaign, appearing alongside Kelce in promotional materials.
