Travis Kelce has lauded Adam Sandler as "the best f--king person on this planet" for officiating his wedding to Taylor Swift. The ceremony took place on July 3 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Kelce, who recently appeared in Sandler's "Happy Gilmore 2" sequel for Netflix, discussed the actor's role in the wedding during the Season 5 premiere of his "New Heights" podcast. "For him to he up to getting ordained in the state of New York to marry me and Taylor. And the way he did it, in the very Sand man style and giving us more than we could have ever imaged in that moment knowing it was the biggest night of both of our lives," Kelce said.
Kelce expressed gratitude to Madison Square Garden for facilitating an intimate and private wedding for himself and Swift, a 14-time Grammy winner. "We wanted to do it somewhere where we could have a very intimate and genuine setting without a lot of distractions. We needed it to be a private feel and MSG went above and beyond to give us that and I can’t thank everybody enough that showed up but also helped put the show on. It was a very magical night," he stated.
His brother, Jason Kelce, who served as best man, noted that the ceremony was followed by a party rather than a formal sit-down reception with speeches. "The thing I really liked about this wedding in particular and the way you structured it — after all that was done, there wasn’t the sit down formal stuff, there wasn’t a bunch of the speeches. It was just time to have party and have fun," Jason Kelce remarked. He also mentioned observing numerous celebrities in attendance, including Brad Pitt, Conan O'Brien, and Paul McCartney.
Travis Kelce described the night as "insane" and "magical," wishing it could have lasted longer. He thanked everyone involved for making it a memorable event. The wedding concluded when "the drinks stopped everyone kind of just starts to mosey out," he added.
