Travis Kelce Named Victim in $35 Million Ponzi Scheme

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has been identified as a victim in a $35 million Ponzi scheme orchestrated by Siddharth Jawahar. Jawahar was sentenced to 11 years in prison for defrauding investors through his company, Swiftarc Capital LLC.

According to federal court proceedings, Jawahar primarily invested clients' funds into Philip Morris Pakistan. When this investment failed to yield returns, he allegedly misled investors, including Kelce, about their money's performance. Prosecutors stated that Jawahar used funds from new investors to pay off earlier clients, a hallmark of a Ponzi scheme.

During the scheme, Jawahar reportedly used some of Kelce's invested money for personal luxury, including private jet travel, high-end hotel stays, expensive apartments, and dining.

The exact amount Travis Kelce lost has not been disclosed, but prosecutors have affirmed that he is a victim and is not accused of any wrongdoing.

This financial loss comes amid a period of significant spending for Kelce. Earlier in the year, he purchased a $5.35 million lakefront mansion in Bratenahl, Ohio. He also recently signed a three-year contract extension with the Chiefs, which guarantees him $12 million this season and could reach $57.735 million over its duration.
