Travis Kelce marked a personal milestone in the Kansas City Chiefs' dominant 31-10 victory over the Denver Broncos by gifting his record-breaking jersey to teammate Xavier Worthy. Kelce's performance in the game saw him become the second-highest receiving tight end in NFL history, surpassing Jason Witten.

Kelce ended the game with three catches for 71 yards, contributing to the Chiefs' strong start to the season. His jersey was given to Worthy, who shared Kelce's message on Instagram: "X! My brother forever! Cherish every time we step on the field. One of the realest on & off the gridiron!"

Worthy, a wide receiver, had previously caused Taylor Swift, Kelce's girlfriend, to "freak out" when he was selected by the Chiefs with the 28th overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft. Swift had informed Kelce about the new teammate at the time.

Kelce's career receiving yards now stand at 13,073, placing him behind only Tony Gonzalez. The tight end's achievement comes after a season where the Chiefs struggled to make the playoffs, and Worthy himself underwent surgery for a torn labrum sustained early in the season after a collision with Kelce.

Worthy has spoken about learning from Kelce, noting his humility and approachability. "He's a future Hall of Famer and he walks around just like a normal guy," Worthy said. "So it makes everybody just [realize]: OK, I could go in there and be [my] person. No need to try to be better than the next person."

Worthy also shared a brief encounter with Swift after a game, describing the experience as "cool" and acknowledging her status as a "mega star."
