Travis Kelce is facing accusations of capitalizing on his high-profile wedding to pop star Taylor Swift, following the release of a new advertisement for Accelerator Active Energy. Kelce, a co-owner and ambassador for the zero-sugar energy drink brand, featured the wedding in a series of posts on social media shortly after the ceremony.
The advertisement included imagery of a vintage red truck with a "Just Married" sign, a likely nod to the couple's nuptials. Energy drink cans were displayed on the back of the truck, and text above Kelce in one image read, "Happily. Ever. After."
The caption accompanying the posts stated, "The love story continues. CONGRATS @killatrav!!!"
The ad campaign quickly drew reactions on social media platforms, with many users expressing disapproval. On Reddit, comments referred to the ad as "embarrassing" and "tacky," with one user writing, "Nothing says Happily Ever After like a paid sponsorship."
Some online commenters suggested the images may have been generated using artificial intelligence, citing inconsistencies in street signs and reflections. Others questioned the extent to which the couple's personal life was being monetized, with one user remarking, "They're 1000% monetizing their eventual kids at this rate."
However, the ad also received positive feedback from some fans. Comments on the brand's Instagram post included "LOVE THIS" and "Such a beautiful day of celebration."
Prior to the wedding, both Swift and Kelce were noted for using public events to promote their respective projects. Kelce promoted his "New Heights" podcast, teasing a "very special guest." Swift's friend Selena Gomez was also seen promoting her Rare Beauty brand while en route to the wedding.
Representatives for Kelce and Swift have not yet responded to requests for comment.
