Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has described his wedding to pop superstar Taylor Swift as "the best night of my life." The comments came two months after the July 3 ceremony, which took place at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
"Marrying Taylor was more than I could have ever dreamed it to be," Kelce said in a preview clip of his interview with ESPN’s Chris Berman, airing before the Chiefs’ game against the Denver Broncos. He reflected that the highlight of the wedding was "all the people that showed up, and the amount of love that was in the air."
Kelce’s teammate, quarterback Patrick Mahomes, also shared his perspective on the event. "My perspective, it was a lot of fun. I did a little dancing," Mahomes said. "I didn’t know if I was gonna be able to dance, and it was good to get my first dancing experience of the offseason."
Over 1,000 guests were reportedly in attendance, including Kelce's teammates and coach Andy Reid, as well as Swift's celebrity friends such as Selena Gomez, Karlie Kloss, Lena Dunham, Sabrina Carpenter, Ed Sheeran, Zoë Kravitz, and Mariska Hargitay. An eyewitness told Page Six that multiple camera crews were present, suggesting a potential future release of wedding footage.
Kelce first publicly referred to Swift as his "wife" on August 12 at a Chiefs training camp press conference, where he expressed gratitude to those who attended. "I appreciate everyone who came out and celebrated and had fun with us. That’s about all I really got from that night. It was a crazy night. It was full of a lot of celebration," he stated.
Further details emerged on the September 2 season premiere of his and his brother Jason Kelce's podcast, "New Heights." Travis Kelce shared, "Me and Taylor are so thankful for everybody that showed up, from the vows to just seeing everyone, to how much fun we had throughout the entire evening and hearing that kind of be relayed through everybody’s stories of the night."
Reflecting on the ceremony, Kelce called the night "magical" but expressed a wish that it could have lasted longer. "I wish it could have lasted even longer than it did. It felt like it just happened in the blink of an eye," he said, adding that guests began to depart once drinks stopped being served.
