Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce described his July wedding to pop star Taylor Swift at Madison Square Garden as "the best night of my life." Kelce spoke to reporters at Chiefs training camp on Wednesday, where he reflected on the ceremony.
"Wedding was the best night of my life, and I appreciate everybody who came out and celebrated and had fun with us," Kelce said. He characterized the event as a "crazy night" filled with "a lot of celebration."
The wedding took place on July 3, with an estimated 1,000 guests in attendance. The event reportedly drew numerous celebrities, including Adam Sandler, Brad Pitt, Reese Witherspoon, Emma Stone, George Clooney, and Bradley Cooper. From the sports world, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany, as well as Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, and Caitlin Clark, were reportedly present. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid also attended, joking that the amount of dancing kept him in shape for the upcoming season.
According to a statement shared with People, Swift and Kelce did not have traditional bridesmaids or groomsmen. Taylor Swift's brother, Austin Swift, served as her "Man of Honor," and Travis Kelce's older brother, Jason, was his "Best Man."
Swift and Kelce's relationship began after Kelce mentioned on his "New Heights" podcast that he had been unable to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it during her Eras Tour stop in Kansas City in July 2023. Swift later appeared on the "New Heights" podcast in August 2025. Approximately two weeks after that appearance, the couple announced their engagement on Instagram. Swift shared photos of Kelce proposing, captioning them, "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married."
Swift told Time magazine that she and Kelce "had a significant amount of time that no one knew" about their relationship before she was publicly seen at his games, and that by the time she attended her first Chiefs game, they were already a couple.
Kelce, an 11-time Pro Bowl player, is preparing for his 14th NFL season. He had 76 receptions for 851 yards and five touchdowns in the 2025 season, during which the Chiefs missed the playoffs. Kelce announced he would return for at least one more season before the 2026 campaign began.
