Travis Kelce recounted the nervousness he and his brother, Jason Kelce, felt upon meeting Prince William and his children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, backstage at Taylor Swift's Eras Tour concert in London in June 2024. The encounter was detailed on Friday's episode of their "New Heights" podcast.

"That was honestly one of the coolest moments ever, was meeting you and the little ones that day," Travis told Prince William, who was a guest on the podcast. He added that he and Jason often joke about their apprehension before the meeting, with Jason having a running gag about not knowing what to do with his beer.

Prince William, 44, shared a laugh with the Kelce brothers, 36 and 38, respectively. Jason clarified that the beer situation was not a joke, explaining the desire to be respectful and aware of royal protocols. He described the meeting as "awesome" and William as "fantastic."

Jason Kelce called Princess Charlotte, 11, the "highlight" of the interaction. Prince William quipped in response, "Congratulations on four daughters. I don’t know how you did that," referring to Jason's children with his wife, Kylie Kelce.

In a previous "New Heights" episode, Travis had described William and his two eldest children as "absolutely a delight to meet." He admitted uncertainty about appropriate etiquette, questioning whether to bow, curtsy, or offer a casual American handshake.

Jason noted that since it was not an official royal event, they did not bow. Prince George, 12, and Princess Charlotte, 11, along with Prince William, watched Swift's performance from a VIP box at Wembley Stadium. Following the concert, the royal family met Swift backstage, and photos were taken, including a selfie shared by Swift.

Prince William and his children did not attend Travis Kelce's wedding to Taylor Swift at Madison Square Garden in New York City on the same Friday the podcast episode was released. Prince William had previously hinted at hoping for an invitation to the wedding in May on the "Heart Breakfast" radio show.
