Travis Kelce has responded to Prince William's anecdote about trying to reposition the NFL star during a selfie taken with Taylor Swift and her children at the Eras Tour in 2024. Prince William, speaking on The Graham Norton Show, had mentioned he was unaware at the time that Swift had not yet made her relationship with Kelce Instagram official.

During an episode of his podcast, "New Heights," Kelce shared his perspective with his brother Jason. "I get it, man," Travis Kelce stated. "I was just a boyfriend at that point. I wasn't her husband yet." He added that Prince William likely thought it prudent to keep the photo pristine in case the relationship did not last, humorously suggesting the Prince wanted to "keep this photo forever."

Prince William had recalled the incident, explaining his bemusement at Kelce's persistence in the photo. "I wasn't until recently," William said when asked about the significance of the post. "I hadn't appreciated the significance, and actually – I was trying to move him out of the photo! Travis kept coming back in, and I couldn't work out why he kept coming back in."

The interaction at the Eras Tour concert led to a subsequent appearance by Prince William on the Kelce brothers' podcast. Travis Kelce admitted that he and his brother were nervous about meeting the Royal Family and adhering to protocol.

"That was honestly one of the coolest moments ever was meeting you and the little ones that day," Kelce told Prince William on the show. "Me and Jason joke about it all the time. We were so nervous to meet you guys and the royal family."

Jason Kelce recounted his own nerves, particularly regarding what to do with his beer, while Prince William was a guest. "I don't know what. Well, you want to be respectful and know what the protocols of course. No, it was awesome. And you were fantastic. The kids were great," Jason said. He also noted that Princess Charlotte was a highlight for him, relating to his own four daughters.

Previously, Prince William had also humorously remarked about potentially receiving an invitation to Swift and Kelce's wedding, which was reportedly held at Madison Square Garden in July.
