Travis Barker Undergoes Surgery for Numbness in Arm and Hand

Travis Barker has revealed that he underwent surgery to address numbness in his arm, hand, and fingers, which he has experienced since a performance last month.

In an update via his Instagram Stories on Wednesday, the Blink-182 drummer stated, “I had surgery yesterday.” He explained that after a show played the previous month, he began experiencing numbness. Following a nerve test on Monday, it was determined that he “needed a cubital tunnel release” to correct the issue.

Barker, 50, expressed his desire to proactively address the condition to ensure his continued ability to perform. "I wanted to get ahead of it and get it over with so that I can keep playing the way I play for a long, long time," he wrote. He anticipates being "good in a few weeks."

The drummer shared the update alongside a photograph taken by his wife, Kourtney Kardashian. In the image, Barker is seen wearing a hospital gown and surgical cap, with Kardashian smiling beside him. He humorously commented on her apparent happiness, noting, "not sure why my wife looks so happy about this."

This procedure comes after Barker shared concerning photos from his hospital bed on Tuesday. One image showed him with his daughter Alabama, 20, in a hospital gown and cap, captioned, “My baby girl came with me 🖤.” He also posted a picture of Kardashian kissing him, writing, “And my beautiful wife by my side 🖤.”

Barker has a history of hand injuries. In 2023, prior to Blink-182's reunion tour, he dislocated the ring finger on his left hand during rehearsals. At the time, he shared an image of the injured finger, stating, “F–k.” He later explained on Twitter that he had "smashed [his] finger so hard, [he] dislocated it and tore the ligaments."

In 2022, Barker was hospitalized with severe pancreatitis following an endoscopy. He detailed on Instagram that a polyp removed during the procedure had damaged a critical pancreatic drainage tube, leading to intense pain. He expressed gratitude for his recovery, stating, “I am so very, very grateful that with intensive treatment, I am currently much better.”

Barker and Kardashian, who married in 2022, welcomed their son Rocky in November 2023. Kardashian also has three children from a previous relationship, and Barker has two children and a stepdaughter from his previous marriage.
