The former Palm Beach International Airport was officially renamed President Donald J. Trump International Airport on Thursday, a move that marked the first time an airport has been named in honor of a sitting U.S. president. President Donald Trump celebrated the renaming on social media, calling it "a very big day" and predicting it "will soon be one of the Greatest and Most Spectacular Airports anywhere in the World!"

However, some travelers at the newly named airport expressed negative reactions. "I think it's disgusting, ridiculous, pompous and a lot of other bad things," said Florida resident Pat Brown, who added that the new name "makes me sick every time I even see the sign on 95."

Another traveler, Phyllis Malmuth, also a Florida resident, criticized the proliferation of Trump's name on public institutions. "I resent that the name is on every institution that we have, this included," she told MS NOW.

A spokesperson for the Trump Organization stated that the president and his family will not receive any royalty licensing fees or financial compensation from the airport renaming. The deal, however, reportedly includes provisions regarding control over "biographical information" at the airport.
